Prepare, Aspire, Succeed – Here at Wilkinson we pride ourselves on helping students to meet and exceed the expectations set forth by the Madison District Public Schools. It is our desire to meet the needs of every student at WMS so they may continue to grow and make academic progress and become well rounded, responsible members of our community.
Throughout this year students and staff have worked hard to make continual improvement, individually and for the benefit of the entire student body. Students have been making strong academic progress, learning about heart-healthy decisions, and becoming active students through our Fuel Up to Play 60 program. Staff has been diligently working on school improvement plans, professional development, and technology integration. All subject tutoring has also been going well for students and staff and will continue throughout the rest of the year.
In addition, we have worked hard to facilitate two-way communication between parents and staff. The district has implemented a new messenger system for student absences and school closures. As a staff we have developed a school newsletter with important information, school news, and student achievements that is sent home monthly and available here in the office. Our tutoring schedule is available in the office, posted monthly, and relayed to students during morning announcements. We look forward to continued communication through upcoming events including our Family Literacy Night and our growing Parent Teacher Organization. We will be having a final Title I Parent Meeting for this school year in May.
The 2011-2012 school year has been a tremendous success thus far. We look forward to the continued success as we end this year and begin planning for our next school year.
